Akcoat Launches a New Term of “The Future Project” for Young Engineering Candidates
kcoat has launched a new term of “The Future Project,” its internship programme that prepares young engineering candidates for professional life. The programme began on 6 October and will conclude with final presentations on 18 June. Six interns are participating, gaining professional experience by working on real projects in production and R&D processes.
With nearly half a century of experience and production across five main product groups—enamel, ceramic, non-stick and decorative coatings, glass and pigments—Akcoat continues its industry leadership not only through technological innovation but also through development opportunities for young talent. In line with this vision, the company launched the new term of “The Future Project,” its long-term internship programme designed to help young people turn theoretical knowledge into professional experience, on 6 October. This year’s programme began with six interns and will conclude with final presentations to senior management on 18 June, with the programme officially ending on 19 June. Students from metallurgy and materials engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, industrial engineering and mechanical engineering will gain professional experience by working on real projects in production and R&D departments.
Supporting Young People Since 2018
Akcoat has supported the career development of young professionals since 2018. Open primarily to university students and recent graduates from metallurgy and materials engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry and industrial engineering, The Future Project enables interns to apply theoretical knowledge to real business challenges, improve project management, analysis, problem-solving and teamwork skills, take responsibility in a professional environment and build their networks.
As part of the programme, interns take on hands-on assignments across Akcoat’s production and R&D functions, including field operations, production, quality control, R&D, process improvement and production engineering. Working in teams on defined project topics, interns produce tangible outputs that are evaluated through implementation, reporting and senior management presentation stages. At the end of the programme, candidates who demonstrate strong project performance, technical competence and teamwork receive priority consideration for internal recruitment and specialist roles. Akcoat plans to continue The Future Project in the coming years.
