A Meaningful World Environment Day Gathering from Akcoat: “Building Deep Connections with Nature”

Akcoat celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June with a special event immersed in nature. Bringing together employees, their families and environmental volunteers, the gathering highlighted environmental awareness and sustainability.

Akcoat celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June with a special event organized under the motto “Building Deep Connections with Nature.” Held at Sakarya Provincial Forest, the event brought Akcoat employees, their families, children and environmental volunteers together for a day in nature.

Organized by the Akcoat Social Committee, the event began with an introductory circle in nature and a shared breakfast. Participants then continued the day with energizing yoga sessions designed for both children and adults.

Later in the day, creative workshops were held to reinforce environmental awareness. Through activities such as painting ceramic pots, making compost and planting, participants developed their practical skills while strengthening their connection with nature. The event concluded with a surprise activity and certificate presentation.

Acting General Manager Ömer Semiz commented on the event:
“We see sustainability not only as a responsibility within our business processes, but as one that extends to every aspect of life. The connection with nature that we build together with our employees and their families reflects our goal of passing environmental awareness from one generation to the next. Through gatherings like this, we both raise awareness and reinforce our corporate values.”

Semiz added that the gathering, which reflects one of the company’s corporate priorities in practice, was a meaningful example of bringing environmental awareness into everyday life.
