Continuing to raise social awareness through its social responsibility projects and fulfilling its duties towards those living in its area of operations, Akcoat created awareness with events held for June 5th, World Environment Day.

Emphasizing environmental cleanliness in every aspect of life, Akcoat once again took the field this year with the motto, “Touch the Future, Change the Future.” As a member of the world's largest sustainability initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, Akcoat organized two significant events to raise environmental awareness for World Environment Day. These events, held at the Selman Dede Recreation Area and Zoo, which the Hendek Municipality protects, drew attention to the responsibility of preserving the natural beauty that nature offers and passing it on to future generations, with the participation of Akcoat Environmental Volunteers and Hendek Mayor Irfan Püsküllü.

Touch the Future, Change the Future

The event began with participants gathering at a meeting point, where they were briefed on the program and provided with the necessary equipment. Each participant was given biodegradable gloves and waste bags to keep the environment clean. Akcoat Environmental Volunteers collected waste in the recreation area and carefully separated recyclable materials, sending them to recycling bins. Throughout the event, environmental awareness was highlighted with eco-friendly slogans such as “Clean Environment, Happy Life,” “Protecting the Environment is in Our Nature,” and “Touch the Future, Change the Future.”

Additionally, to mark June 5th World Environment Day, Associate Professor Asude Ateş from Sakarya University's Environmental Engineering Department gave a seminar for Akcoat employees in the conference hall of the Akcoat R&D Center. Dr. Ateş shared valuable insights on environmental consciousness and sustainability.
