Akcoat transformed waste pallets from its factory into dog shelters on October 4, World Animal Day, donating them to the Hendek Municipality Animal Shelter to provide homes for a total of 50 dogs.

Continuing its efforts to raise social awareness and fulfill its responsibilities to the community with impactful social responsibility projects, Akcoat implemented another meaningful initiative on World Animal Day. Following its 2023 “Food for Shelters Campaign,” the “Providing Homes for Stray Animals” project turned used pallets into warm shelters for stray animals, thanks to the creative and dedicated efforts of Akcoat employees. The dog shelters, providing homes for 50 dogs, were donated to the Hendek Municipality Animal Shelter, ensuring a safe and warm environment for the animals during the cold winter days.

Lasting Support from Akcoat Employees

Emphasizing a people- and environment-focused approach in all aspects of its operations, from production lines to social responsibility projects, Akcoat once again demonstrated this commitment with its “Providing Homes for Stray Animals” project. Akcoat General Manager Burç Yıldırım highlighted that everyone, from HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) operators to administrative staff, from the creative touches of women employees to the meticulous work of the technical team, contributed wholeheartedly to the project.

“This project not only provided warm homes for stray animals but also strengthened our employees’ sensitivity toward the environment and animals. Every team member involved, from building to painting the shelters, has left a lasting mark for stray animals. As Akcoat, with this project, which gains even more significance on World Animal Day, we continue to prioritize our responsibilities to nature and animals and aim to contribute to a better future with similar sustainable projects,” Yıldırım stated.
