Akcoat participated as a Gold Sponsor at the 22nd International Symposium on Boron, Borides, and Related Materials (ISBB), held from September 8-12, 2024, at Dedeman Hotel in Istanbul. As a global leader in chemical coating materials, including enamel, ceramic, glass, non-stick decorative coatings, and pigment products, Akcoat shared its contributions in innovation, sustainability, and advanced R&D with the participants, emphasizing its role as a pioneer in the chemical coatings industry. The symposium provided a platform where scientific research on boron and related materials was discussed, bringing together industry leaders, scientists, and experts.

Akcoat’s R&D team supported the symposium with two significant presentations, sharing their advanced studies in boron technologies with the scientific community. Senior Pigment R&D Specialist Emre Aslan delivered a presentation titled “Synthesis, Grinding, and Color Characteristics of MgCoB₂O₅ (Cobalt Magnesium Borate Red-Blue) Pigment in Various Applications,” highlighting the advantages and innovative applications of boron in pigment production. Assistant Enamel R&D Specialist Didem Özkaya presented her work on “Investigation of the Use of Alternative Boron Sources in Glass-Ceramic Coating Production,” sharing innovative approaches to sustainable material use with representatives from various global sectors and academia.

Following the presentations, Akcoat’s R&D Director Selçuk Bulut Yazan emphasized the importance of the symposium, noting that Akcoat, which operates one of Turkey's largest R&D centers, remains committed to contributing to science.
