The WildLife Rescue project, initiated through collaboration between industry and nature, reflects Akcoat's commitment to protecting the future from today. In the first phase, sea turtle conservation efforts were carried out at İztuzu Beach in Dalyan under the name Expedition South.

Akcoat WildLife Rescue volunteers stepped forward with the belief that sustainability is in their hands. These efforts, which marked the beginning of Expedition South, were carried out at Muğla's Dalyan İztuzu Beach. Detailed scientific research was conducted in the sea turtles' nesting areas, and the data collected contributed to developing solutions for the issues observed in the field.

Volunteers worked in various areas such as developing eco-friendly, corrosion-resistant nesting sites, analyzing the effects of beach formation on gender distribution, studying heavy metal and microplastic pollution, and caring for and treating injured sea turtles. By leveraging Akcoat's expertise, they developed bio-compatible coatings and produced climate-appropriate solutions for conservation facilities.

The field studies conducted as part of the Akcoat WildLife program, launched in 2022, completed a 1,500-hour working period with Expedition South, which covered the summer season. Additionally, utilizing the 6,000 square meter R&D Center infrastructure, 25 Akcoat WildLife volunteer researchers collected scientific data from 160 nests, contributed to the treatment of 10 injured sea turtles, relocated 14 nests to safe areas, and helped 2,000 baby sea turtles reach the sea.
