Continuing to take strong steps for gender equality, Akcoat hosted a meaningful gathering on November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The "Stronger Together for Women" themed seminar created an important awareness environment on protecting women's rights and promoting equality.

In this context, a seminar titled "Stronger Together for Women" was organized on November 25 to raise awareness about women's rights and gender equality. Held at Akcoat Conference Hall, the seminar featured Lawyer Özlem Zengin, an expert in women's rights and fighting violence against women, who provided detailed information about the current legal regulations and the support mechanisms available to victims of violence, explaining how women could benefit from these support systems. The event was attended by employees from various manufacturing facilities in Sakarya's 2nd Organized Industrial Zone.

"We Signed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles"

In his opening speech, Akcoat General Manager Burç Yıldırım emphasized that empowering women is not just a social responsibility but a necessity for a sustainable future. Yıldırım shared, “With the Akkök Holding perspective, we continue our commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality. As Akcoat, we will continue to fulfill our responsibility in defending women's rights and achieving gender equality. The Different Faces of Violence and Solutions

In her speech, Lawyer Zengin emphasized that violence should be addressed not only in its physical form but also in its psychological, economic, and sexual dimensions. She noted, “Increasing social awareness through education is of critical importance. First and foremost, educational programs on gender equality should be widespread.” Zengin also highlighted the importance of social solidarity in empowering women, stressing that women should come together to form supportive networks.

During the seminar, which created a valuable awareness environment on the protection of women's rights and the promotion of equality, participants had the opportunity to gain legal and social knowledge on how women could play a stronger role in social life and take effective steps in combating violence.
